Hiwarkhed at the foothills of satpudamountain is one of the largest towns in TelharaTaluka belonging to the Akola District in state of Maharashtra. Hiwarkhed has huge history. It has prominent temples and this village has diversity across religion. Around the village also covered the melghat. The Melghat in the South-western Satpuramountain ranges. Melghat means 'meeting of the ghats'

I am very much pleased to state that Satpuda Shikshan Santha, Hiwarkhed established a Kala va Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Hiwarkhed college in 2001 at Hiwarkhed with a vision to provide an educational platform for students belonging to various socially and economically weaker sections.
